First Heavy Snow

Winter isn't supposed to really start for a few more week, right? Why is there so much snow already?, Craith thought aloud, pushing a snow shovel down the side.
It had frosted over a few times these past couple of weeks, but this was the first time snow was so heavy it needed to be cleared. Normally there were enough people managing the park at any given day so that Craith wouldn't have to shovel any snow, but it really was worse than normal. You'd figure Craith wouldn't mind, but snow was one of the few things that came to the park that bugged Craith more than usual. It wasn't like snow was a bad thing, but it was something he couldn't clear up with his powers.
Craith turned to one of his co-workers, shoveling beside him, and openly complained. "I can easily phase piles of leaves with me, but snowflakes just won't stay with me. I'll get enough to cover myself in a decent layer, but that's barely anything. Can't the city pay for heated sidewalks here?"
"Weren't heated sidewalks deemed unfit for the park? Something about getting away from modern technology?" The co-worker responded.
"Whatever. Your wife get back to you yet?"
"Yeah. About that. She's kinda wary about bringing a homeless groundskeeper in for the winter. Sorry, buddy."
Craith went back to shoveling in silence. His inquiry was about finding a place to stay during winter. Originally his co-workers seemed overwhelmed with joy to let Craith stay with them, but in recent years there was far more reluctance. This year specifically has been extra bad. Craith's only winter preparedness was the gifts park-goers had given him over the years. This would mean some scarves, gloves, and hats, most of which that were hand crafted, but would end up lost by spring. With more recent rumors making him sound like he works in the park just to stalk people, it was becoming a bit more difficult to get anyone to trust him. This winter was shaping up to be just one big bother.
