: Chanto
AGE: 20 (6.4)
SPECIES: Trojan
GENDER: Male
POWERS:
- Sword & Shield Manifestation (With a small amount of focus, Chanto can instantaneously manifest a katana-like blade that appears to be composed entirely of shining white light energy. Along the same lines, he can also at-will summon a "Beehive Barrier"-style bracer shield (()) that appears in front of his forearm, also out of what seems to be light energy, but semi-transparent rather than opaque.)
- Flash Step (In moments of high adrenaline, Chanto can--if necessary--instantaneously move at such a speed that he practically warps out of the way of whatever's coming at him).

APPEARANCE
APPEARANCE
: Very light blue, #00E1FF
HEIGHT: 5'8"
WEIGHT: 128 lb
SKIN: Light-toned.
HAIR: Jet-black, thick, chin-length, wispy at the edges.
EYES: Light brown, though with some greenish tint that can only be seen at the right angle.
MARKINGS: Various scars on his forearms and one on the right side of his face, behind his jawline.
POSTURE: Somewhat slouched. Needs to focus a bit on actually standing up straight if the situation calls for it.
COORDINATION: Generally a bit clumsy, but in high-intensity situations, he generally becomes hyper-competent. However, even so he may slip up every now and then.
FEATURES: When harnessing powers, his eyes will shine with the same kind of energy that his sword seems to be made of. And every now and then, small waves of light energy will flow down his arms (Right: Solid white. Left: A series of connecting semi-transparent hexagons). This seems to be a mostly subconscious thing he does, perhaps to release excess buildup of energy. It will also occur frequently when his emotions run high (Stressed, excited, angered, etc.).
CLOTHING: Chanto typically wears rather casual clothing. Considering his rather scrawny figure, he has a tendency to bundle himself up a bit more when the weather calls for it. Typically dresses in jeans and various t-shirts. Under his standard clothing he also wears a full-body white, skintight outfit that serves to help him channel his energy with more ease. Wears his father's old crystal amulet around his neck at all times.

PERSONALITY: Chanto generally tries his best to be a good-natured person, unless you've wronged him or someone he cares for. He's not exactly the mysterious type. Unless he has some reason to be defensive around someone, he's basically an open book. He does get somewhat uncomfortable when the subject of his family is brought up but he tries not to be too curt about it. He tends to get irrationally upset when he witnesses or hears about crimes committed toward others, and if he is capable of doing anything about the situation, he will no doubt do so. He is frustrated by the fact that he is a Trojan--which people tend to automatically associate with mafia connections--as he actively rejects and fights against that part of society. He believes himself to be moderately intelligent, though he can have his moments of mental thickness as well.

- Wylfen Ryenna, Female, 21, @ 19, agape, 4 months
HISTORY: Chanto grew up an only child to his two parents. He lived what seemed a fairly calm and normal life until it was destroyed at age 12 by the death of his parents. His home was broken into by three mafia members who threatened his parents with the kidnapping of Chanto. To demonstrate that they meant business, and to shut Chanto up, who was struggling rather aggressively once they had him in their grasp, they pulled a blade on him and gave him the wound that remains a scar behind hs jawline today. At that moment, Chanto's father seemed to utilize some strange sort powers that appeared to be light-based to try to fight off the intruders. He managed to fend them off for a few moments, allowing Chanto to get to safety, but he was eventually overwhelmed by their assault. The mafiosos gunned him and his wife down, leaving Chanto to fend for himself. The mafia members searched the premises for the boy, but after a while of looking, they decided he wasn't worth the effort and scurried off. To this day, Chanto still has no idea what triggered this attack, but he has made it a goal of his to find out.
After the trio left, Chanto returned to the scene of the attack to the traumatizing sight of his parents' bodies askew in the living room, bloody and broken. Among the chaos, though, something stood out to him. The white crystal amulet that his father had worn as a necklace for as long as he could remember...it seemed to be gleaming at him, though there were no observable light sources that would naturally play off of the crystal to do that. Confused, and his mind still reeling from what just occurred, he reflexively went over to his father's body, released the amulet from him, and put it around his own neck. Upon doing this, Chanto felt what could only be described as a massive wave of intensity--every sense, every emotion, everything he percieved was intensified exponentially for a few brief moments before his vision faded to white. The next thing he remembers after that is waking up face-down in the city park, bloodstained and with many concerned-looking people gathered around him. It wasn't until later that he discovered that during the time he was mentally unconscious, he went on a rampage--seemingly possessed by some unknown force--and slew all three of the mafia members who were involved in his parents' deaths.
Once these details were revealed, Chanto was taken in by the local Knights' Branch, partly for his own safety, partly for experimentation and research of his abilities, and partly because they wanted to raise him to join their ranks as a competent Knight. Chanto lived relatively well with them, but over time he started seeing through the facade they presented and began to witness their own particular brand of cruelties they inflict upon other, less priviliged research subjects of theirs--the Worms in particular. As soon as he began to question their methods at around age 16, they stopped playing quite so nicely with him, they put him through more unreasobaly rigorous trials of his skills and eventually started to resort to using force to instill loyalty in him. Before they could break him though, one day while being led to a test chamber, Chanto managed to take his guards by surprise and use his highly-trained combat abilities to fight his way out of the research compound and back to his hometown.
Alone and with a bounty on his head now from both sides of the law, Chanto had to fend completely for himself from this point on. He spent a while lying low, doing odd jobs for scraps of cash to support himself. Eventually, he was able to find a niche that he could fill with his particular talents: Hunting. Functionally, he works as an assassin/mercenary, but he has some extremely strict guidelines for his job. He will only take on people or creatures who he personally believes need to be stopped based on the qualifications provided to him by his clients, and by his own observations.

EXAMPLE POST: Perched at the edge of the apartment's roof, Chanto watched his target move down the alley with hawklike intensity. If nothing else, the guy cleans up well. The photographs sent in depicted Lairion Kalypso as a filthy, ragged and hungry-looking drug lord. Now, though, he stood upright, hair neatly combed back and wearing a nice-looking suit that easily must have run him a couple grand.
Lairion was flanked on either side by fellow mafiosos; The one on his left, rotund, wild-haired and carrying a relatively heavy-looking shotgun at his side as if it weighed no more than a loaf of bread. To his right was an unsettlingly tall man, slender, balding, and carrying a fairly long telescoping baton. Wherever this group was headed to, either they were expecting trouble, or they meant to really mess up some poor sod.
"Hrm. Not if I have any say in it," Chanto muttered to himself before making a running leap toward the next roof over, still tracking the moving group of three. Distracted by his own musings, however, he neglected to notice the slippery patch at the edge of the roof due to the rapidly encroaching winter weather. He lost his balance just as he made his leap and missed his target. He yelped as he began to plummet down toward the pavement, but in a panic, Chanto managed to utilize the strange warping ability that he was able to call on every so often. He instantaneously shifted a ways over to his side, bringing him to cling by his right hand to a wire that hung above the alley, between two of the apartment buildings, not too far behind the mafiosos.
He was saved from the fall, but his activity didn't go unnoticed. As soon as he grasped the wire, the goons he was following immediately spun around, the big brutish one aiming his boomstick right up at Chanto.
"...Shit."
